Malaysia’s qualities as a business expansion destination

Kuala Lumpur is one of the most attractive cities in Asia for companies that want to expand their business. This is confirmed by a large number of Singapore companies that are choosing this city, and others in the country, once they are ready to expand out of the borders of their city-state.

According to a report published by HSBC, one of the largest financial and banking organizations, Malaysia is chosen by companies in Singapore that plan to expand during the following two years. Out of a total of 1,036 companies surveyed for this study, 36 percent, representing a little more than 370 companies, have stated that they plan to expand to Kuala Lumpur.

The main reasons why Malaysia is an attractive destination for expansion include the large potential market for new customers, ease of doing business and consolidating business relations and the overall investment climate. For this last criterion, more than 70 percent of the company representatives believed that the country has a good business climate.
